After over eight weeks with virtually no rain the skies finally opened up and heavy rain began to fall mid morning.  The finalists in the 2018 Algie Mitchell had hit of earlier in the morning but they too were caught up in the heavy rain.  After playing 13 holes, all square, it was decided to call the match off; one club flying over 40 metres after an approach shot.   All repaired to the club rooms for a warm drink and a chance to win the weekly raffle.  The final of the Algie Mitchell Shield will now have to be played within a fortnight.
