Current Competitions;

Midweek Intra-club mixed competitions are held on Wednesdays, 9.00 am for a 9.30 am hit-off.  Competition fees – $10.00 ($25.00 – non-members, all welcome)

Weekend Intra-club mixed competitions are held on Saturdays, 11.30 am for a 12.00 pm hit-off – Competition fees-  $10.00 ($25.00 – non-members, all welcome)

Regular Events At RGC Are;

The “Relay For Life” Charity Golf Day – Four Player Ambrose – “The Old Course”, 2nd or 3rd Sunday each February,

The Summer Cup; a four round whole of club and visitors completion during February; stroke, par, stableford & stroke (Monthly Medal).  Players have two chances (Sat & Wed) each round to record their three best round scores.  Points, 10 – 1, are allocated to the best 10 performances each week.  The winner, 2nd and 3rd, are those players who have the highest total from their best three round scores.

The Romsey Challenge Bowl; A teams’ Stableford event, 1st Thursday in April.  (Sponsored by T. J. Scott & Sons)

The Macedon Ranges Spring Cup; annual inter-club challenge originally on the 3rd Saturday in September but moved to early November in 2023, the MRSC rotates between Mt Macedon, Lancefield and Romsey Golf Clubs  This event is sponsored by Drummond Golf, Niddrie.

The Graeme Clement Open & The Romsey Women’s Open; Held over the 3rd weekend in November

  1. Saturday – 4BBB pairs – men’s, women’s and mixed.
  2. Sunday, Men’s & Women’s Opens – 24 hole stroke – “The Old Course” – 12 holes am and 12 holes pm.

DDGA events; each year RGC hosts various men’s and women’s events, dates vary annually.

Visitors are welcome to take part in, and be eligible to win, weekly club competitions (not Club Championships, Monthly Medals or Shield Events) once green fees (Currently $10) and competition fees have been paid.

Only fully financial, 12 month members, are eligible to win any Shied Event, Monthly Medal or Club Championship.

New GolfVic affiliation rules mean that each year Romsey Golf Club will pay the annual affiliation fee (~$50.00) for anyone with a RGC GolfLink number who uses that GolfLink number.  This means that we will de-list all non-financial members with GolfLink and these player’s GolfLink numbers will not be active.  To reactivate a GolfLink number a player simply has to become a financial member at RGC or another golf club.

If you are an experienced golfer who has just moved into the area or if you, or another member of your family, is thinking of taking up golf for the very first time; please come down to the club, play a round and meet representatives from the committee and other club members.


Being financial is a pre-requisite for competing in any RGC or DDGA event.  

* Memberships fall due as of July 1st and are expected to be paid in full by August 31st.

* Members may approach a committee member to arrange a payment schedule however any payment arrangement requires that all fees must be paid by December 1st.

All membership fees are inclusive of GolfVic and Dalhousie District

affiliations, a water levy, a small machinery maintenance and

replacement levy and “Golflink” membership.

Green Fees

All players should be able to produce the correct paper (the white slip stapled to the brown envelope), or digital receipt on a phone/iPad, to show they have paid Green Fees

  • Weekday/Weekend/Public Holidays

$15.00 – Individual,

$20.00 – Family (two adults & two children) ALL DAY

  • Juniors (18 & U):

$5.00 ALL DAY

  • Golf After 4.00 pm:

$10.00 (adults)

Score cards and green fees’ envelopes including carbon paper receipts are available at the 1st tee.

NB: Club competitions and pennant events will have right of way over Green Fees players


Juniors

Romsey Golf Club is an accredited MyGolf club.  MyGolf is a program sponsored by both GolfVic and GolfAus, there is a one-off charge of $35.00, however once paid the individual involved may take part in any MyGolf program until they turn 16.  We work with golf professional Tony Collier (Stuart Appleby Golf Academy) to plan and run five (5) training sessions for juniors (aged between eight (8) and sixteen (16)).  These sessions take place after Tony has run two golf sessions at Romsey Primary School.

The RGC MyGolf program usually runs between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm on a weekday during November and early December.  At the end of our five-week program each participant receives a Dec-April RGC membership.

Juniors are most welcome to compete in weekly competitions.  After handing in score cards for three completed rounds they will recieve a temporary handicap, after five completed rounds they will receive an official GolfAus handicap.


The RGC membership base is broad, with approximately 80% of our members residing in the township and the surrounding districts with the remaining 20% coming from the Northern Metropolitan suburbs of Melbourne and larger local towns such as Sunbury.

Members’ Financial Year extends from 01 July to 30 June of the following year.  Pro-rata rates are applicable if joining during the year.  A “Joining Fee” is not charged.  All memberships are expected to be paid in full by the 1st of September however the committee is able to make arrangements that allow some memberships to be paid in installments; these memberships must be paid in full by December 1st.

RGC Dress Code – All formal club competitions

  • A neat standard of attire is required at all times on and around the course and in the rooms.
  • Collared shirts preferred (clean, neat t-shirts acceptable)
  • No singlets or high visibility work attire during Wed or Sat golf or events such as those listed above
  • Neat casual pants or shorts (no rips)
  • Footwear that will not damage our greens, no metal spikes please, socks to be worn.
  • No thongs.

Rights and Privileges for all Membership Categories

Voting Rights:

Only full members  are entitled to be nominated for, and elected to, the club’s committee.

Only full members are able to nominate themselves or other RGC members for election to the RGC Ccommittee.

All members have voting rights.

AGM:

The Romsey Golf Club Inc., AGM is held in October each year.  All financial members are encouraged to attend and be actively involved in the forming of the Golf Club Committee.

Club House Rights:

All members and guests may use the clubhouse and facilities when open.

Competition Rights:

Full Members, Family Members, Seniors & Junior Members – All competitions.

Six month Members – All competitions during the consecutive six months of their membership.

General:

Romsey Golf Club Inc. is administrated by the General Committee (business related matters) and the Club Captains (Golf events).  At the Annual General Meeting the executive and general committee members are elected by the membership.

 

Codes of Conduct

All members of Romsey Golf Club are expected to display the highest level of sportsmanship, whilst on course, and behaviour whilst in the clubrooms.  The Golf Australia (GA) code of conduct is below.

Handicaps

All RGC Members have a Golf Australia Daily Handicap. New Members may, after the payment of appropriate fees,  commence getting their scores registered into GolfLink, currently the offical Australian data base to hold all GA players handicaps.  To obtain a GA handicap a player must submit three, 18-hole or six 9-hole cards.  All cards played require a marker’s signature (markers must hold a GA handicap).

All RGC members will receive a “Golflink” card.  (Romsey Golf Club is Golflink club no 30813).
