The 2018 Spring Cup was held in wonderful conditions; clear skies, plenty of sun and virtually no wind.  A field of 53 took to the course, clubs represented were Romsey, Mt Macedon, Bacchus Marsh, Keysborough, Tocumwal, GSF, Woodend, Mandalay, Hidden Valley and Medway.  Despite the excellent conditions virtually everyone found it difficult to play consistent golf and card a good score. Visitor were challenged by the tight fairways and the smaller greens.  Some groups were in a very social frame of mind where good, and bad, shots were greeted by raucous cheers.  Others, playing more seriously, were frustrated by chips just rolling off the green and down over back or putts slipping well passed the cup.   As the field enjoyed a wonderful roast lunch RGC president Anthony Lakey thanked all those who had played, the RGC members whose hard work saw the course in top condition and who had organised the  refreshments and main meal and the event  sponsors, Drummond Golf, Niddrie.  There was much applause after special mention was made of life member John Laing,  After 30 years John was handing the organisation of Green Fees cards etc and the collection of monies over to RGC member Wendy Gosden.   MMGC captain, Richard Payne, congratulated everyone on a very successful event before Chris Milverton (Drummond Golf Niddrie) and Scott Williams made the day’s presentations.  On a great day for golf the results were;
