The round began under overcast skies with gaps in the cover hinting at just how pleasant the afternoon could be.  Rd 2B of the Summer Cup drew another excellent field.   With the recent  fertilising of the greens and fairways and the modified irrigation regime growth had been good and most areas of the fairways had excellent cover.  The sun soon came out and the wind stayed at its gentle best, good scoring was expected.  Golf, being the game it is can be full of near miss stories.  In a stroke competition one bad hole can destroy a round and on this occasion three golfers fell into this group.  However, the eventual winner played very consistent golf to take out he day.  On a top day to be out on the park the results were;

1st; Mal Mottram – 76/7/69

2nd; Ron Walker  – 95/24/71

3rd; Anthony Lakey – 93/19/74  C/B Hugh Drummond & Clive Mensforth

NTPs; 15th & 16th Mal Mottram
