Another beautiful morning to be out on the park, clear skies, the merest puff of wind and warming, late winter sunshine.  There was plenty of activity on the course so golfers had to stay alert for fairway and rough mowers, members filling pot-holes and repairing cross-overs and the more than occasional dog walker. The beautiful sunshine quickly melted the white frost from the below zero overnight temperature.

Some members had returned from a couple weeks of holidays and was amazed at the drying out of the course, the quickness in the greens and good grass cover over the fairways.  Despite most players finding the course quite heavy, especially on the front nine, the August medal was a close contest.  One player eventually drew away from the field; sinking some long putts on the final few holes.  On a wonderful day for golf the results were;
Winner & August medalist; Jenny Hartley – 100/24/76 from Elaine Scanlon – 109/30/79 and Wendy Gosden – 112/29/83
