With grass growing at a prodigious rate members had been very busy trying to control the rough as well as keep the fairways respectable, by late Friday all seemed to be OK. The greens, still recovering from their recent coring, were still a little furry,  and while they generally putted very true strokes had to be firm.  The round began in overcast conditions but the sun soon shone through.  There was intermittent rain, especially over the final few holes but the strong westerly wind proved to the the biggest problem,. The “4ball Aggregate” format allows teams to add their Stableford points so teams were looking at around 72 points however, the conditions were such that a score in the high 60s was an excellent effort.  On another challenging day on the course the results were;

Winners; Mick Squire (5)/Mal Mottram (10) – 69 pts from John Freestone (20)/Ron Walker (26) – 64 pts

Individuals; Chris Lingard (0) – 37 pts, Anthony Lakey (20) – 36 pts

NTPs; 1st – Les Gaunt, 15th – Les Gaunt & 16th – Ron Walker, Mal Mottram (10) – 35 pts
