With the initial rounds of the 2025 Club Championships being played in almost perfect autumnal conditions the final day looked to be far more challenging.  A top temperature of 9ºC with a high probability of rain and a SSW wind pushing passed 30Kph; it was always going to be a challenging day.  Leaders in all  four grades might try to play it safe to protect their positions while those who were chasing would have to take some risks, some interesting play was expected.  Given the wet conditions, plenty of mud on the ball,  “Relief, to a handspan, through the general area” was given.  As expected, it was a tough day with par a bonus on a few of the very challenging holes and few players were able to play close to their handicaps,.  The day’s results were;

1st; Dean Kohler – 79/7/72

2nd; John Freestone – 101/28/73

3rd; Davey Kenney – 86/112/74

NTPs; 1st – Andrew Laing, 15th –  Zac Scales, D&P 3rd – Mal Mottram, Longest Drive 4th – Davey Kenney, D&P 6th – Dylan Harris.

The club would like to thank;

1 – Ben Owen for his time as president during ’24 and ’25.

2 – Kevin Dunn for his almost 25 years as a committee member, Treasurer, Secretary & Vice President, DDGA delegate and RGC representative on the Committee Of Management, as a member and President.  Kevin was also a member of two successful RGC pennant teams and organised and delivered the catering for numerous RGC events and working bees.

The club inducted two members into the RGC Hall of Fame.  Ron Walker and John Freestone.  For over 20 years Ron and John  have done a huge amount to help get the club to where it is today.  Awards richly deserved.
