Saturday March 22nd – Stableford, Algie Mitchell Shield qualifying – top 4
At long last the area had received some good rain, around 30-40mm, and everything looked the better for it. Play began with a gentle S/SE wind that stayed around for most of the round, that and a little cloud cover made fora very enjoyable afternoon. The Algie Mitchell Shield is the club’s oldest shield and positions in the finals are much sought after. This year it is only the top four who will proceed so every hole was important. The greens continue to respond well to the constant repair work of the club’s volunteers and it is hoped that the corellas will move on in the very near future. It was also great to catch up with Mick Nicholls Jnr, up from the city, with his 14 month-old twin girls. On another top day to be out on the course the results were;
1st; Scott Williams (18) – 39 pts C/B
2nd; Davey Kenney (14) – 39pts
3rd; Dylan Harris (6) – 37 pts
NTPs; 1st, 15th & 16th Dylan Harris, Longest Drive 4th – Dylan Harris, D&P 3rd – Bob McLennan
The 2025 Algie Mitchell Semi-finals will be;
Scott Williams (12) Vs Luke Lyons (0)
Davey Kenney (8) Vs Dylan Harris (0)
