Saturday March 15th – Stroke
Another hot, dry day with a temperature over 33C; the club’s heat policy was activated and play began at 9.00. The field was reduced as many of the pennant players took the opportunity to play at the courses that will feature in Rd 1 of the 2025 Sunday Pennant season. There was good cloud cover for most of the front nine then a gentle northerly wind blew in keeping the whole field a little cooler. Again, the hard fairways saw extra length on all shots with numerous players surprising themselves off the tee. Given the ongoing heat and lack of rain the surrounds were in top condition and many of the bird damaged areas on some greens were showing signs of good regrowth. On a top morning to be out on the park the results were;
1st; John Freestone – 97/29/68
2nd; Steve Wilkins – 88/18/70
3rd; Zac Scales – 102/30/72
NTPs; 1st – Steve Hehir, 15th – Steve Wilkins, D&P 3rd – Steve Wilkins, Longest Drive 6th – Anthony Lakey
