With the day’s  temperature predicted to be above 33C the club’s “Extreme Heat” policy was again activated and play began at 8.30am.  The temperature soon rose into the high 20ºC by early in the round then well above  30ºC by mid round.  The fairways had good cover with only a few bare spots here and there.  The harder fairways saw all players achieving extra distance so approach shots required a higher club than usual, those who made the correct selection did well. The northerly wind blew up to 30Kph+ late in the round and while a few players hoped for some movement in the air it seemed to happen only rarely.  On a very hot morning the results were;

1st; Andrew Clement (13)/Mitch Atlas (6) – 74 pts

2nd; Ben Owen (14)/Mick Squire (6) – 71 pts, C/B

3rd; Simon Donovan (10)/Dean Kohler (8) – 71 pts

NTPs; 1st & 15th – Andrew Clement, Best 2nd shot 3rd hole – Davey Kenney, Longest Drive 4th – Ben Owen
