Another  warmish summer’s day with just the occasional wind from the S/SW for the final of the John Laing Shield and the club’s par event.  Despite the good conditions it was tough to card a good score.  After so many weeks of wet weather the club is still racing to get on top of the strong growth across the park so, if you strayed off the fairway it  might be difficult to find your ball and then a challenge to get it back into play let alone much closer to the green. The final of the John Laing was a very tight affair.  Neither player got more that one or two holes up and over the final few holes it got back to all square.  The shield was finally decided with Shannon Wight repeating his win from 15 years ago when he defeated his brother Daniel on the 20th.  On a beautiful day to be out on the park the results were;

Winner; Steve Wilkins (20)-Square

2nd; Davey Kenney (14) -1

3rd; Luke Lyons (15) -3

NTPs; 1st; Sherif Abdel-Sayed, 15th; Mal Mottram & 16th;  Mick Squire
