Players assembled under overcast skies with a steady SW wind however, by tee-off the skies had brightened and the wind became a little more flukey.  The burst of heat and some additional rain had seen excellent growth across the whole park keeping all volunteers busy.  The growth on the greens was especially noticeable.  The top conditions saw some very good golf both in the Stableford round and the semi-finals of the John Laing shield.  In recent months two players have been on the wrong side of a count back, this time these two were pitted against each other, one had top lose!

In the John Laing Shield it was a day for the long hitters. Shannon Wright, three down after six holes played the remaining 12 holes two under the card to record a great win.  Mitch Atlas was able to keep just ahead to be two up going down the 17th, a win on that hole saw him into the final.  On great day to be out on the park the results were;

Winner; Andrew Clement (8) – 39 pts CB from Mal Mottram (7) – 39 pts, Scott Williams (14) – 34 ptrs & Keith Hocking (32) – 34 pts

NTPs; 15th – Davey Kenney & 16th – Mal Mottram
