Saturday April 27th Monthly Medal – Stroke & Putts

The cooler weather, heavier dews, some occasional rain and the regular irrigation, had seen the course green up considerably.  While there were still many bare patches on the fairways the greens were in top nick.  With both men and women contesting the April Monthly Medal the field was full.   The round began under cool, overcast skies with the sun poking through now and then seeing many players remove the outer layer of their warmer clothing.  In general all players got good value for well struck shots however, the softer fairways saw some drives pull up a little shorter than in previous weeks. In the end it was a very close Men’s Medal with the count back going down to the last six holes.   On another cooler afternoon the results were;

Men’s Winner & April Medalist; John Moody – 84/14/70 C/B from John Freestone – 92/22/70, Michael Nicholls Jnr – 87/16/71, Micheal Nicholls Snr – 93/22/71 & Pat Chisholm – 85/13/72

Women’s Winner & April Medalist;  Kath Jekabsons – 100/29/71 from Jenny Hartley – 96/19/77
