Almost 100mm of rain  early in the week followed by sunnier, warmer days saw excellent growth, especially on the fairways.  Plenty of couch showing through auguring well for later in the year when the heat returns.  Play began on a still clear day with no sign of rain and plenty of mid autumn sun.  The day also saw the  final of the Algie Mitchell Shield, handicap matchplay.  The 4BBB stroke groups took advantage of the conditions to generally perform well with some excellent scoring.

The Algie Mitchell final saw Mick Nicholls Jnr jump out to an early lead and then play very sensible conservative golf.  No matter what  Scott Williams did he  was just not able to peg Mick back.  On a top day to be pout on the park the results were;

Winners; Dean Kohler (23)/Simon Donovan (10) – 60

2nd; Mal Mottram (6)/Kev Dunn (26) – 65

3rd; Steve Wilkins (17)/Shannon Wright(8) – 68

NTPs; 1st – Dean Kohler, 15th – Steve Wilkins
