It was a still, sunny afternoon for the club’s Par round.  A strong field teed up hoping to take advantage of the good conditions but, as usual with golf, expectations rarely meet reality.  There was some additional difficulty added to the round as, during the past week, a number of damaged and dangerous trees had been felled leaving piles of wood and some heavily churned areas of soil.  The ongoing dry, virtually no rain since early January, saw widening cracks on some fairways and, outside the irrigated areas, many bare patches so relief on fairway played was still given.  Despite the more than challenging conditions a few golfers were able to rise above the pack and return a f\good score.  The day’s results were;

Winner; Mick Squire (6) – +5 from Pat Chisholm (14) – +3 & Andrew Laing (21) – +2

NTPs; 15th Hugh Drummond.
