Saturday June 4th – Relative Pairs

The Relative Pairs Shield, 4BBB Stableford, usually draws a good number  of contenders but the conditions, very cold, steady drizzle and gusting winds from the N/NW saw many fair weather golfers decide to stay at home.  However, despite the tough conditions quite a good field, relatives and other, took to the course.   Players teed off with steady drizzle for the first few holes and  a strong wind from the Nth.  Over the remainder of the front nine waterproofs came on and off   and the odd umbrella went up.  The wind moved to the NW and there were two heavy showers so, with the wind, the rain and the soft fairways it was a tough day to be  out o the  course.   However, one pair  did not seem to  be affected by any of the challenging conditions.  It was also great to welcome back Dave Richardson, returning to golf after shoulder surgery.  On a  hard day to be hitting a little white ball abroad the park the results were;

Winners and 2022 Relative Pairs Champions; Mick Squire (5)/Josh Squire (32) – 45 pts

2nd; Anthony Lakey/(18)/Dave Richardson (26) – 38 pts

NTPs; 1st – Mitch Atlas, 15th – Brad Klaaysen

2022 Relative Pairs Champions, Josh Squire, RGC Captain Mal Mottram & Mick Squire

Saturday May 28th – Medal of Medalists and May Medal, stroke & putts

Players were met with overcast skies, no wind and very cool conditions as they hit off on the Medal of Medalists and the May Medal.   With a number of 21/22 medalists unable to compete the  MoM field was reduced. While conditions were challenging they were consistent and once players fully understood the conditions some excellent golf lead  to a few players carding top scores.  Daniel Wright (3) had a 37 out and a 35 in to par the course but that was not good enough to win the day.    Towards the end of the round  the skies darkened and rain threatened but never eventuated; everyone was more than pleased to be back in the room as the late autumn cold closed in.  On an interesting day to be put on the course the results were;

Medal of Medalists and May Medalist; Pat Chisholm; 81/13/68

2nd; Daniel Wright  – 72/3/69

3rd; Mitch Atlas – 78/7/71

NTPs; 1st – Mitch Atlas, 15th – Andrew Clement, 16th – Davie Kenney

Saturday May 21st – Rd 3 2022 Men’s Club Championships

After a very cold night there was a heavy dew across the whole course.  Early green fees players left tracks on the greens some going straight to the hole others rolling well passed.  By hit-oof at midday the sun was out and there were clear skies and virtually no wind.  The three grades of the club championships looked to be pretty much decided, it would need some excellent golf by those in 2nd or 3rd places to overtake the leaders.  The excellent conditions saw some impressive golf and a few championships spots changed.  Others, playing in the daily competition put in some top performances.  On another wornuful day to be out on the course the results were;
