The recent rain made conditions very different to the previous two rounds of the Club Championships. High pitched balls to the green held well but drives off the tee and on the fairway were  far shorter due to the heavy conditions.  There was a nip in the air meaning beanies and jumpers were a must and the intermittent drizzle was bothersome.  The greens were still fast having been mown on Tuesday (by member Wendy Gosden who has been having mowing tuition from Les Gaunt).  At the completion of the round members were joined by Life Member Helene Newnham and shared a meal in the clubhouse to celebrate another year of Championships and to congratulate the winners.   On a tricky morning for golf the results were;

Winner; Darlene Bake – r from Jenny Hartley –  on a C/B from Elaine Scanlon – .
Least Putts; Lorraine Robb –
The 2018 Romsey Women’s Champion; Darlene Baker – 279.
The 2018 Romsey Women’s Nett Champion; Jenny Hartley – 237.
