Saturday November 3rd – John Laing Shield 1/4 finals & Stableford

With 10mm of rain falling on Friday morning and early afternoon the course was a little softer but the recent hotter weather still saw everyone  get good distance off the tee.  For most of the day a gentle breeze wandered in from the S/SW however, it occasionally strengthened suddenly causing problems on the holes running north/south.  With the 1/4 finals of the John Laing Shield out first play moved at a good pace.  Results in the Shield matchplay were a little mixed; one match was a walkover, two were not so close and one went right down to the final hole.  The Stableford field took advantage of the excellent fairways and the rapidly improving greens to post some excellent scores.  On another great day to be out on the park the results were.
