A strong field took to the course to contest the August Medal.  Play got under way beneath overcast skies and with a very cold westerly wind.  The rain late in the week saw many soft spots and even some casual  water.  The greens were again faster than in the past but a number of players were able to adapt their game to the conditions.  The cold air and soft fairways saw all players loose distance off the tee and the soft ground loud the greens required  accurate approach shots or golfers faced very challenging chips to the green.  The wind dropped about half way through the round and the sun came out making for a far more pleasant back nine.  On a very cool, slightly windy afternoon the results were;
